Delta Dental awards $20,000 grant to Florida Mission of Mercy event
April 26, 2016
Jacksonville, Fla. — The Delta Dental Community Care Foundation today announced a $20,000 grant to this year's Florida Mission of Mercy, a program of the Florida Dental Association.
The Florida Mission of Mercy will be held April 22 and 23 at the Prime Osborne Convention Center at 1000 Water Street in Jacksonville. Dentists, hygienists, dental assistants and community activists, all of whom are volunteering their time, will provide free dental treatment to the region's underserved and low-income population.
"Florida's Mission of Mercy event provides important oral health care to many in need who would otherwise go without due to financial barriers," said John Yamamoto, DDS, vice president of Professional Services for Delta Dental Insurance Company and its affiliated companies, which oversee the foundation and its philanthropic efforts. "As a past sponsor, we are delighted to once again contribute toward such a worthy cause."
